Steven Alan Little
Steven Alan Little, a compassionate, dedicated, and supportive resident of De Witt, Nebraska, was born on April 12, 1954, in Beatrice, NE. Known for his knowledge, He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1972. Steve and Teresa Geistlinger were married on October 11, 1975.
Steven devoted his life to helping others and making a significant impact on his community. He retired from Tri-County Public School in 2015 after a fulfilling 30 year career in maintenance and as a bus driver. While his work was essential, what mattered most to Steve was his family and his commitment to work and his community.
Steven was an active member of the DeWitt United Methodist Church and served as a past treasurer. He also held a role on the Oak Grove Cemetery Board and was instrumental in starting the school Backpack Program and the DeWitt State Bank Contingency Program. In his leisure time, Steven enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling, especially to National Parks. He found great joy in supporting his children and grandchildren in their endeavors, never missing an event. Hosting Sanne Keuper, a foreign exchange student from Holland, was one of Steven's memorable experiences.
Steven is survived by his wife of 48 years, Teresa Little of DeWitt; his mother Roberta (Virg) Pegeler of Lincoln; his daughters Faun (Adrian) Basford of Lincoln, and Haley (Brad) Blakey of Herrin, IL; his brother Dennis Little of Beatrice, his sister Debbie Little of Lincoln, his brother Tim (Norma) Little of Camdenton, MO; his grandchildren Ellary Blakey, Skyler Blakey, Liam Basford, Beau Blakey, Devon Basford; and his foreign exchange student, Sanne (Kuen) Keuper. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Val Little, and his sister, Sandy Chapman.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church, 209 North Concord Street, De Witt, Nebraska, 68341. The family will greet friends at the same location from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday. A family prayer service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 9:45 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM at the church that will be Livestreamed at www.ghchapel.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the First State Bank Contingency Program with the funeral home in charge.
