Bill Storey

Bill Storey left to be with his heavenly Father on October 11, 2021. He was born in Lott, Texas to John Douglas Storey and Bessie Sue Lane Storey.

Bill graduated from Waco High School and Baylor University; and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His 30+ years in city government throughout Texas included many years in Pasadena as Assistant to the Mayor; along with several years as City Manager in the Golden Triangle, culminating with his retirement as Conroe's City Manager. Appointed to the Texas Municipal League Workers' Compensation Board of Directors 1979; instrumental in creating the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool and served on its Board of Directors until 2017. He began a new career as Chaplin for Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. Member of Conroe Church of Christ and active member of its prison ministry; founding member of the Montgomery County Christians Against Substance Abuse 12-step program. He was also an avid hunter and more recently an avid golfer.

Bill is survived by his wife Anne Storey; daughters Shelley Fuller of Pasadena, and Tamera MacFarlane and husband, Don of Houston; grandchildren Christopher Fuller and his wife Britany, Ryan Fuller, Shannon Garza and her husband, Thomas, Emily Arrington, Shelley Cantrell, Annie Garza, Elijah Garza, Colton Cantrell and Sarah Cantrell; nephew and nieces.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Bill to Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas 77304 or Project Joy and Hope, P.O. Box 5111, Pasadena, Texas 77508.

The family will receive friends at 10am; with funeral services to begin at 10:30am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Conroe Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 2:15 in Houston, Texas.
