Leonard "Whip" "Boots" Morgan

1925 - 2017 A celebration of Leonard "Boots" "Whip" Morgan's Life, age 92, of Port Arthur, TX will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas, with burial to follow at Erin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Funeral Home. Leonard died peacefully June 18, at his home. A native of Jasper, former resident of Erin and a longtime Port Arthur resident. He was a member of Stone Gate Church of Christ in Nederland, TX. Leonard retired from Southwestern Bell Phone Company after 32 years of service. He liked to hunt and spending time with his family. Leonard is survived by two sons Leonard Dale Morgan and wife Patricia of Colleyville, TX, William Paul Morgan and wife Martha of Lumberton; daughter Linda Ross and husband Ronald of Wildwood, TX; three brothers, Herman Morgan, Fred Morgan, and Roy Morgan: six grandchildren Billy Morgan, Rhonda Rhodes, Laura Heusler, Jamie Talley, Emily Morgan and Drew Morgan and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Rhodes, Allie Hanks, and Elyse Jane Heusler. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Hilda Whitehead Morgan, his parents, Kimble and Avrie Morgan, and a brother, Ted Morgan.
