Carl Kuester Obituary

Carl Kuester
Carl Emil Kuester, 76, of Millstadt, Ill., born Aug. 23, 1931, in Sugar City, Colo., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Kuester worked for the Globe Democrat and then later retired from the St. Louis Post. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Carl was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill., the Men's Fellowship at Zion and the Parkinson Support Group in Belleville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Minnie, nee Bauer, Kuester; his sister, Charlotte Peterson; and his brothers, Elvin Kuester and Richard Kuester in infancy.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, nee Eickhoff, Kuester of Millstadt, Ill.; his children, David (Jane) Kuester of Millstadt, Ill., Debra (Mark) Vandermyde of Forsyth, Ill., Karen Glenn of O'Fallon, Ill., and Kevin (Karen) Kuester of Freeburg, Ill.; his grandchildren, Will, Adam, Noah and Emma Kuester, Rachel Vandermyde, Ryan and Alex Glenn, Christopher, Daniel and Sarah Kuester; his sisters, Selma Wiles of Oklahoma and Bernice Kuester of Tyler, Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church or Parkinson Support Group in Belleville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill., with the Rev. Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will be at Freivogel Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
