Michael Cordes Obituary
January 7, 1943 - November 6, 2022
Belleville, Illinois - Michael William Cordes, 79, of Belleville, IL passed away on November 6, 2022.
While cancer may have ultimately claimed his life, he selflessly lived every day in service of family, friends, and strangers. It would be a disservice to tell the story of a life so well-lived in a few short paragraphs, so here are the simple facts.
Michael is survived by the love of his life of 60 years, Janice Marie Cordes, and their 10 children: Tanya Griffin, Che' Cordes, Tony Cordes (Deceased), Kendra (Ryan) McMullen, Deborah (Sean) Jourdan, Justin Cordes, Kristen (Marc) McRoberts, Bryan (Katie) Cordes, Andrew (Shannon) Cordes, Sarah (Tim) Force, 21 grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Cordes, and his brother Billy (Nancy) Cordes. He is also survived by his siblings Suzanne Ring Gallagher, Victoria (Rich) Konopka, and Teresa Cordes.
A celebration of life will take place at the Catholic Student Center at Washington University on Saturday, November 26th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Evelyn's House Hospice.

Our sincere sympathies to the entire Cordes family. Mike was a great Father and loyal supporter of Blessed Sacrament school. I will always remember Mike selling raffle tickets at various fundraisers. He was one of a kind!
