Richard Roll Obituary

Richard Eugene Roll Richard Eugene Roll, 84, a longtime resident of the Wickersham community, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 27, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 17, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas. He was raised and attended school in Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. In 1958 he moved to Wickersham and worked as a millwright machinist in Sedro-Woolley for over 30 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working in his garden growing flowers & vegetables. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Grace; his wife, Marjorie in 1997; a brother Dale Roll and a sister, Betty Holt. He is survived by his sons, Terry Roll (Karen Jo), Kenneth Roll, Michael Roll (Leatrice) and Kirk Roll. His daughters, Kathie Roll and Deborah Brooks (Jay). 3 granddaughters, 1 great-grandchild and 2 step-grandchildren. A graveside inurnment service with Military Honors will be held at the Saxon Cemetery in Acme on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Don Thorndike of the Little Brown Chapel in Wickersham officiating.
