Heartbreaking news. He was the kindest, sweetest vet. Several of my dogs owe their lives to him and Dr. Darcy at South Street Vet. I know the practice will carry on but it will never be the same. Thank you so much Dr. Breslin.

I was very saddened to learn of Dr. Breslin's passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Andy's photo hints at what kind of a man he was--kind, funny, empathetic, generous, thoughtful, intelligent--in short a wonderful human being.
I was privileged to know him as a very supportive member of our Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries committee for quite a few years.
The world is a better, kinder place because of Dr. Breslin's work. He will be missed by many.

Dear Andy, if you are looking down from above,
There is no way to repay the kindness with which you treated my six poodles over the last ~40 years. They adored you and could recognize you immediately as a dog-person on their side. Even more important, I had you as a model to emulate, and always left South St. with more patience and love for my dogs in my heart.
I'm so glad you found your calling in life, and was devoted to it for so long!
Best wishes and happy trails,
Victoria

We loved Andy and are terribly saddened by his loss. He took care of our favorite family members going back to his early days with Dr. Collins. Gracie missed him at her last visit. We can easily imagine Hal, Swee, Barkley, and Daisy, tails wagging, welcoming their Uncle Andy beyond space and time.

My heartfelt condolences to the Breslin family and South Street family. Andy went way beyond any expectations when caring for my pets. I have been with South Street since 1986. When I lost my young dog to a collar accident, Andy showed so much love and kindness. Gave me his home phone to provide support, give love and understanding in my loss. I am so grateful to have known Andy, wonderful, loving caring human being.

I never forget the day when I had to put my beloved Wheaton, terrier, Henry, to sleep. Andy followed me to the parking lot and cried with me. Andy was my vet for over 35 years and I will miss him terribly. I saw him last in June and I was kidding him about his short week retirement plan.
He was the very best vet and the kindest man.
My condolences to his family and his colleagues on this great loss.

A quick story about Andy. He would complain that when he walked with Pam, people would mistake her for his daughter. Secretly he was proud.

My family is so saddened to hear of Doc's passing. Andy was the most special, crisis-calming person we knew. While we might have been frantic over an issue with one of our dogs, Andy exuded such a quiet, no worries attitude that immediately put everyone at ease. My daughter was inspired to become a vet and was lucky enough to spend a few summers volunteering and interning at South Street. She cherished her time learning from Andy and all the exceptional doctors there. Pam, Luke, Molly & Sam, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May you take comfort in great memories, a wonderful Breslin legacy, and of knowing that you had the best human to love and that loved you.

To the Breslin family and staff at South Street Veterinary, It is with much sadness I write after seeing that Doctor Breslin has passed away. What a wonderful and caring man. We have been going to his office since 1978 after our girls received their first kitten for Christmas that year. I know all his furry patients will miss him, but I imagine all the others will be there at Rainbow Bridge to greet him. RIP Dr. Breslin and thank you for caring for all the fur babies near and far.

My heart goes out to the Breslin family, including everyone at South Street Vets. Such a huge loss. I remember when my anxiety ridden rescue first met Dr. Breslin and he gently cupped my dogs face in his hands and my dog just melted, calm and gazing back at him in adoration. Immediate love. What a gift he had, and his kind and gentle soul will be missed by so many.

My condolences to all who knew and love Dr.Breslin. Our family knew him for many years when he had his practice in his home. He was always good to our family and our beloved pets. We often laughed about the time his son cut his stethoscope in half while examining one of our dogs. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

My pup Chance and I are so saddened at the loss of Doc. Andy was the only doctor Chance ever wanted to take care of him. He made you feel so special as if you were the only one that mattered. I went to Miss Hall's and had the privilege of going to his home for dinner and remember all the animals they had. He never forgot that he had known me for that long. My fur baby is now 15 years old and will miss his ONLY doc on his next visit. Sending prayers and love your way.

Pam, Luke, Sam and Molly, I am so saddened to hear about Andy! He was the most amazing Vet and person. He had taken care of MANY of our family pets with care and compassion. Always made you feel at ease no matter what what happening. I am sure that all of the animals that he took such good care of that crossed the rainbow bridge were ready for him and smothered him with fur kisses!!! .............. at least that is what I invisioned! I am sending you all my thoughts and prayers to help you through this difficult time. But, know that he was one of the kindest men I have ever known and will be missed.

To Pam, Luke, Sam and all of Andy´s family. We were deeply saddened to hear of Andy´s passing. When I came to MA from MI in 1970, I found Andy as my vet. That´s 53 years of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies that I brought to him! I brought him my very first dog that came with me from MI. When we knew it was time to say goodbye to her, he told me to take her home and then come back in the morning. He said that sometime we needed that extra time to say goodbye. He knew when it was time to tell me, "It´s time" or to be with me and my family when it was time to help our furry family member to "cross the rainbow bridge." Most of the time, he´d just tell me to make a donation to our local SPCA or to the clinic that he supported in Puerto Rico when that happened. He said to me one time that there were just some services he didn´t charge for. He was a kind, caring and thoughtful man and we are better to have known him. He was also so proud of his two boys, both of whom I had in 1st grade! Rest in peace, Andy. You will be dearly missed!

What a sad day when Andy Breslin departed. My husband and I knew him since 1984 when we moved to the Berkshires - he was one of the kindest and most caring people we have ever known - he cared for two of our cats and eight of our rescued dogs giving each one the benefits of his skills and love. We will miss his good humor and warm smile. Rest in peace Dr. Breslin surrounded by your many four-footed, as well as two-footed friends. Til we meet again - Joy and Tom Hayes
