Matthew L. Bigelow

1978 - 2021

Matthew L. Bigelow, age 42 of Boylston, MA and formerly of Pittsfield, died suddenly the day prior to his birthday. Born in Pittsfield, August 14, 1978, the son of the late Marilyn Roy Bigelow and Armand E. Bigelow. Educated in the local schools, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Matthew enjoyed spending time with Sara and his children outdoors exploring Springside Park and flying kites.

He leaves his aunt and uncle, Mary Margret and Robert Burke of Pittsfield, who raised him since the death of his mother 20 years ago; his children, Damon and Eddie Bigelow of Pittsfield, a brother, Dorian Bigelow of Pittsfield; three sisters, Tameka Burke of Spring Lake NC, Christina Burke of Fayetteville, NC, and Kareena Bigelow of Pittsfield; his paternal grandmother, Nicolena L. Bigelow of Pittsfield, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Eddie Bigelow and Theodore Burke, and the Love of his Life, Sara Shelby.

Funeral Notice: Calling hours will be held MONDAY, August 23rd at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME from 4-7PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 7PM with the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Chaplain of Soldier On, officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made payable to Christina Burke, in care of the funeral home.
