Stephen Sample Obituary
Born in Pittsfield August 8, 1968, the son of Carole Bailey Sample and the late Lee N. Sample, he was a 1986 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School, was a graduate of Berkshire Community College, and also attended Roger Williams College in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Mr. Sample had been employed since 2004 by County Ambulance of Pittsfield as a supervisor in the CC Division.
He was active in civic affairs and had been a member of the Town of Lenox Planning Board since 1994 and a member of the Lenox Historic District Commission.
Besides his mother of Lenox he is survived by his aunt, Virginia A. Sample, his uncle, William V. Sample, and several cousins.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral of Mr. Stephen Ira Sample of Lenox who died February 17, 2014, will be conducted Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11 am at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor of St. Ann's Church. Calling hours at the funeral home are this evening (Thursday) from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Stephen's memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.

My Condolences to Carole and Ginny and family on the loss of their beloved Stephen. Even though i had to opportunities to visit Lenox since 1991, I still have many fond memories of the times I did spend with Stephen and the family. Thanks to our friend, Pete Crennan. Stephen was always such a happy jovial young man and always seemed to have the world by the tail. My heart goes out to Carole and her loss.

I was so shocked to learn of Steve's passing. Having served several years on the Planning Board with him he was such a calming influence on often heated discussions. My sympathies to his family.

I'm so sorry for your lose Steve was my supervisor at county ambulance his passing has taken a toll on us. I will truly miss him he left way too soon. I know he will still keep us in line! To the Sample family: I am so sorry for your loss I was deeply saddened when I heard of Steephen passing I am a client of the County Chair car division. I can tell you he was a very kind and caring person he was very attentive when it came to a clients needs or concerns we beacame really close friends though out the years I was able to go and see him before he passed I am so glad I was able to put a smile on his face. He will be missed by many

I was saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I was on Planning Board with him for many years and I always asked him to sit next to me. He was very knowledgeable, but quiet. I would constantly say "What do you think Steve". He would laugh and give a terrific answer. He will be missed. What a wonderful guy. My condolences to his family.
