Came across these old pictures from 1987. There was a time when every small town had a Tom Jay at the local radio station. Knew everybody. Knew everything that was going on. What a treasure.

I think of Tom every time I think of the Boy Scout's and ham radio, as my son was in the Boy Scouts. Tom and I worked an emergency one time in Great Barrington. This year, with help of a friend, I am getting back into ham radio. God bless you Tom Jay, you are missed. Our prayers to the Jaworski family and friends.

Marilyn and family we are certainly very sorry for your loss of Tom. He was such a great person, so great with our son Craig helping him achieve Eagle Scout. Tom always told him it would help him out in the future and it certainly has. We send you our prayers and know that he's probably in heaven gathering all the scouts for a jamboree. The Colantoni's

I never knew Tom except on the Greylock repeater, and it seems that he was a cheerful presence on the air ever since I began using 2 meters in the 70s. I'll miss that voice ... and his wisdom. Dah-di-dah, Tom from W2BEW.

Tom J will always be remembered by me as the "Voice" not only of Gt. Barrington.... but also of the Berkshires. From the time I was just a young kid listening to WSBS back in the 60's.... that friendly..... delightful voice would comfort us.... even thru the worst storms and tragic stories on-air....about things here in the berkshires... and all the way out to his famous "Cape-of-Cod" on the Eastern Shores... lol
Although many of us didn't spend alot of time with Tom "in-person".... he was certainly a part of all of our families..... and we all knew him well....
Thanks, Tom.............
