Janet Cousineau Obituary

Janet Cousineau
Big Rapids, Michigan
08/05/1947 - 06/20/2025
Janet Cousineau, 77, of Big Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. She was born on August 5, 1947, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Basil and Ardena (Dunn) Cramer. On December 5, 1970, she married the love of her life, Thomas Cousineau. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Their story was introduced as children on neighboring family farms, blossomed in high school, and grew into a lifelong romance filled with love and shared memories. Janet worked for several businesses around Big Rapids over the years, including First National Bank, Harry's TV, Carriage Motors, and Eric Williams Law Office. In addition to her professional work, she prepared taxes for many clients each year, always happy to lend a helping hand. She was a talented seamstress, lovingly crafting countless wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and other garments for special occasions. Being part of those milestone moments brought her true joy. Janet and Tom shared a passion for exploring-taking drives, trying new restaurants, and revisiting their favorite spots. She was always ready for the next adventure. Above all, Janet was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Her presence brought warmth, love, and support to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Cousineau; siblings, Richard (Kathleen) Cramer, Dale Cramer, and Joyce (Fred) Iltis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Ardena; and siblings, Robert Cramer and Jean Cramer. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, 2 p.m. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. Memorial Contributions may be made according to Elara Caring, 203 S. Janet always had a smile on her face and was just one of those people who made you feel comfortable around her.
She had a wonderful laugh with a twinkle in her eyes. The stories she told about her family - especially her relationship with Tom were sweet and endearing.
She is one feisty lady who will be fondly remembered and loved by so many people.
