Jan Fuller Obituary
Obituary for Our Beloved Matriarch
Jan E. Fuller
October 23, 1948 - May 19, 2025
On May 19th, 2025, at 2:45 a.m., the world lost a rare and remarkable soul-Jan E. Fuller, our mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and eternal matriarch. She passed peacefully in her sleep, having waged the kind of battle against illness that most could not fathom, let alone endure. And yet, through multiple cancers, COPD, and liver failure, she remained exactly who she had always been: fierce, loyal, unshakable, and full of grace.
Jan was a force of nature-a woman who did not suffer excuses, never looked for a handout, and never let the weight of life slow her stride. She raised five children on her own, often juggling two or three jobs at a time, yet never missed a sporting event, a school function, or the chance to pour wisdom into those around her. She was there. Always. Not because it was easy, but because it was right. She was the rock on which her family stood, the shoulders upon which generations now rise.
Her love was fierce and her loyalty unquestionable. She was a protector of her inner circle, a defender of her family, and a quiet storm of strength and dignity. She didn't complain. Not once. She didn't point fingers. She simply did. And in doing so, she laid a foundation so solid, so wide, that her children-and their children-have built lives of purpose and power upon it. All of her children, against the odds and beyond expectation, have become wildly successful-not in spite of her hardships, but because of how she turned them into stepping stones.
Even in her final days, Jan was a light. A movie star in the hospital-literally-touching everyone she met with her warmth, her humor, and her spirit. Nurses cried, hugged her, and told her they'd never forget her. And they won't. None of us will. She died with peace, the kind of peace the Bible promises-"peace that surpasses all understanding." She was living Scripture in motion.
To those who knew her, Jan was the perfect blend of iron and tenderness. To her family, she was everything. And to the legacy she leaves behind, she was, and forever will be, the standard. The example. The foundation. The queen.
We will miss her terribly, but we rejoice knowing that for those who believe in Jesus Christ, this is not goodbye. This is see you later. Praise God for her life, for her unwavering faith, and for the road she paved for us all.
Thank you, Ma Dukes, for walking the walk, for talking the talk, and for living a life worthy of the calling placed on you. We carry your fire, your legacy, and your love forward-always.
Until we meet again.
With eternal love and deepest respect,
Your Family
