Buddy Schroeder
BILLINGS - Buddy Schroeder was born in Billings, MT on January 9, 1948 to Hollis and Gertie Macy Schroeder. He was the baby brother to Jodie Sabal, Faye White and John Schroeder. He passed away on August 31, 2024, after a six week illness.
He married Sandy Besel in Red Lodge at the Wedding Chapel on October 9, 1992. Buddy and his family did not have an easy life growing up in a single parent home. He was also born deaf which gave him many obstacles to face, but he remained a happy child who worked hard all his life starting at the age of nine, he helped his mother and brother clean buildings before and after school.
He always loved working, his last day at work was July 19, 2024. He was the most loving, caring, and outgoing person one could ever meet. He had a heart of gold and a unique sense of humor with his jokes and stories always making friends with whomever he met.
He was proud of his marksman skills and enjoyed spending time at the Rod and Gun Club. He also loved playing bingo at the Senior Center and playing the "machines" at his favorite casino.
His parents and sister, Jodie Sabal preceded him in death. Survived by his siblings: Faye White, John and Nancy Schroeder; special nieces: Denise Williams, Pamela Badnarik, Dena Scharen; and nephew, Ronald Smith; brothers-in-law: Daryl Besel, Earl and Julie Herman; and many cousins; and also, his wife, Sandy Besel who he loved and cherished; plus his beloved, tommy Cat.
He will be missed dearly by all who had the great privilege of knowing him. He was always happy and had a heart of gold, gone too soon. Cremation has taken place and no service per his wishes. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Perkins Restaurant, downtown at 825 North 27 Street starting at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with refreshments served.
