Janice Moen Obituary

WILLISTON, N.D. - Janice E. Moen passed away on the evening of Friday, March 17, 2006, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, of complications from heart surgery. She was surrounded by her husband and her family.
She was born Janice E. Christensen to Harold R. and Winona E.J. Christensen on Dec. 14, 1939, in Sidney, Mont.
On graduation night, she went on her first date with the man who was to become the love of her life. They were married Dec. 28, 1958.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth O. Moen; her four precious children, K. Craig Moen and wife Csusan and their two children, Samantha and Seth; daughters Kristi G. Kanta and husband Daniel and their son, Sutton; Leslyan J. Rohnholdt and husband Lester and their children, Dustin, Brad and Megan; and Jill R. Karanjai and husband Rajohn and their daughter, Sarah. Her siblings are LuAnne (Harvey) Senn, Paul (Lisa) Christensen, Stephen (Kathy) Christensen and Richard (Carol) Christensen of Sidney, and Joyce (Steve) Schreiber of Voorheesville, N.Y., and Gerald (Lila) Christensen of Crookston, Minn., along with numerous relatives and friends.
She was our favorite JEM. She was one of the most thoughtful, caring and giving women you could ever know. God must have needed a party planner. No family member or friend ever went hungry at Jan and Ken's house. Jill saw a shooting star on Friday, so get ready, God, here she comes. We love you.
A private service for her immediate family was held in Billings at Smith West Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 19.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 25, at 11:30 a.m. (MST), at Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney, followed by food and fellowship in the church basement and interment of her cremains at the Sidney Cemetery Columbarium.

Dearest Mother,
Though I haven't seen you in a year, I do every time I close my eyes. Though I haven't told you I love you in a year, my heart tells you so day and night. Though you can't advise me with your words, I live by them daily & know just what you would say. Though I haven't felt the softness of your cheek, I'll never forget your loving touch. Though you haven't seen your grandchildren in a year, I see you in their eyes. Though you haven't shared a kitchen or a recipe for so long, I keep trying to make things and gatherings that I know you would enjoy.
Thank you, for being with me and giving me so much for so long, even when it was so difficult. Thank you for your love and guidence. You will never be forgotten, you will always be in my heart. I truly have the Best Mother In The World.
Love you Forever Mom,
Jill

On earth you were the Queen of party planning. I'm sure you will do the same up above. You always knew the right words to say, the right theme to use and the right way to enter and exit with grace. You are both beautiful inside and out. I feel so blessed to have known you and to have witnessed your unconditional love for Ken and your children. You will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family as the morn their great loss.
