Darrell Dean Hoffmann, 70, Bismarck, passed away Dec. 25, 2019, at Sunset Drive Prospera in Mandan after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1402 E Ave. C, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 4 p.m.
Darrell was born in Beulah on Jan. 27, 1949, to Arthur and Eugenia Hoffmann. He was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in 1964, graduated from Bismarck High School in 1967 and served in the National Guard for six years.
He married Joann Wiedrich on May 26, 1967, in Beulah. He worked at Thomas TV & Appliance; from there he went to work at the FC Hayer Company as a traveling sales rep. He also worked in sales at Enterprise Rent a Car and finished his career at United Accounts before retiring in 2016.
His hobbies included planning family vacations, reading, fishing and watching sports. He liked going to music concerts, plays and spending time with his children, grandchildren and two puppies: Sparky and Misty.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joann; son, Cary (Judy) Hoffmann; daughter, Melissa (Kerby) Hausauer; five grandchildren, Brad (Kaspari) Hoffmann, Cara Hoffmann, Audrey (Julian) Clemon, Marcus and Ethan Lausch; five great-grandchildren, Deacon, Abel, Declan, Keyari and Viennavie; two sisters, Betty Lou Meyers and Marion Meske; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Hoffmann and Eugenia Weigum; father and mother-in-law Theodore and Erna Wiedrich; stepfather, Bill Weigum; infant son and daughter, Michael and Kimberly; and son, Kevin.
