Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 17, at Parkway Funeral Service Chapel, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with the Rev. Laurie Natwick officiating. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Eileen Ellen Wahlman was born Jan. 27, 1930, at Sterling to Daniel and Alma (Eskeli) Wahlman. She attended school in Sterling and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1947.

Eileen married Norris J. "Lars" Larson on June 23, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. They lived in Fargo and Jamestown, prior to moving to Bismarck in 1963.

Eileen worked at the Bismarck Tribune, the N.D. AFL-CIO and at Basin Electric Power Cooperative. She retired in 1992 after 15 years of employment with Basin. She was named Secretary of the Year for the Sakakawea Chapter of the Professional Secretaries International.

Eileen was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She and Lars were VFW and American Legion Club members. Dear Andi, Val, Lori and families,

I am so sorry about your mom. She was such a pleasant and caring person. My folks and I enjoyed visiting with her. It was too bad that she moved into the Waterford just when I was moving out. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.

Andi and family,

Andi, I remember meeting your Mom when you and I were in Junior High. What a warm and wonderful person she was! I got reacquainted with her as a co-worker at Basin Electric. I always enjoyed her sense of humor and family stories and really missed her when she left. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.

My deepest sympathy to Eileen's family. Our families used to visit way back when we were kids. She was a super-nice person.

We are so sorry to hear of you Mom's passing. We became good friends when we worked at the Jamestown Sun and left employment at the same time as Val and our daughter, Lu Ann, were born 6 weeks apart. What great times we had with your parents and didn't see them often enough after their move to Bismarck but we did stay in touch. You girls were blessed with two of the best.Thinking of all of you.

Sincerely, Rae Ann and Mark Paulson

Val, Andrea & Lori,

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom.

It's been a long time since we have seen each other, but do remember good times with your family.

I have e-mailed your mom's obituary to my mom & dad (Mark & Rae Ann Paulson) as they were very good friends, and still always exchanged Christmas cards.

My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

To the family of Eileen,

I haven't seen Eileen for a long time but when she was a neighbor, you couldn't ask for a better one. She had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. She will be missed by all who knew her. Keep her memories alive. Know that friends share your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Val, Andi & Lori,

Your Mom will always hold a special place in our hearts. We wish we could be with you to honor and celebrate her life. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and shared her sunny smile with everyone. She adored her beautiful girls and she was so very proud of you & your families. We know it is difficult to say goodbye. May you find comfort in the knowledge that she and your Dad are together again in the presence of God for all eternity!

We send you our prayers and much love. EB, Steve & family.
