Emma Hauck, 82, Bismarck, died June 23, 2002, in a Lincoln, Neb., care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ray Kelch officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Burt.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Emma was born Dec. 15, 1919, in Napoleon, the daughter of Fred and Christina (Flemmer) Laeszle. She was raised and educated near Napoleon until about age 13. The family then moved to Tuttle. Emma was employed with several restaurants and worked miscellaneous housekeeping jobs in Lehr and Jamestown. On Nov. 24, 1949, she married Rueben Hauck at Lehr. Emma and her husband farmed at Carson until they retired.
Emma was an avid gardener, loved to crochet beautiful lace items, was fond of children and taught kindergarten class at her church until shortly before her death.
Survivors include one son, Donald, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Lynn Morrison, and one grandchild, Nathan, Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben; one grandson, Jonathan; her parents; a brother, John Leslie; and two sisters, Christina Keim and Lydia Montgomery.
