James McFall Obituary

James Lewis McFall, 86, born March 29, 1929, died peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2015, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Fla.

He was born in Flasher and spent most of his life in Bismarck, where he graduated from Bismarck High School. He also graduated as a Naturopath. His young life was spent working for the family's business at the Chiropractic Clinic and selling clinical supplies. James served in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s. He ran the radiology tech department in Detroit, Mich., while in the military. He enjoyed his careers selling medical equipment and working as a recruiter for educational/art companies.

James enjoyed sharing his life stories with his children and grandchildren. James loved interacting with people. He went out of his way to positively influence the day of all he met, most notoriously by gifting them an angel pin. James was married to Donna McFall in 1964 and later divorced in 1992.

He is survived by his children, Scott (Heather) McFall and Kimberly (Tim) Brick; his adopted children, Melody Hanson, Richard McFall and Robert McFall; his sisters, Rosemary Vandenburg, Opal Jean Carlson and Ruby Benjamin; and his grandchildren, Dominique McFall, Ben Brick, Alexis Brick, Jeremy Brick, Matthew Martin, Jason Austad, Jamie Austad, Kristen Scanlon, Jennifer Wortman, Jessica Richardson, Michelle Steidler, Patience McFall and Robert McFall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth McFall; his brother, Mark McFall; and his sisters, Elaine McFall and Phylis Carlson.

The memorial was held in Cape Coral, Fla., on June 30. He will be laid to rest at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Please donate to the charity of your choice rather than sending flowers.
