Michael Gross Obituary
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, where a Christian Mothers rosary service will be held at 2 p.m. Visitation will continue at 5 p.m. today at the church, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Michael Stephen Gross was born Feb. 24, 1988, in Bismarck, son of Stephen and Lori (Jacob) Gross. He lived with his family on a farm south of Napoleon. He attended Napoleon Public School and was currently a junior. Michael loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle with his dad and his brother, Evan. Spring's work was often initiated by Michael's enthusiasm.
Michael being very compassionate and caring, appreciated having his friends around him or talking on the phone with them. He will be remembered by his infectious giggle and his love of music. You could count on Michael finding just the right music from his many CD's. Michael liked to play pinochle making sure to outbid his aunts and uncles. He was a leader in organizing the ballgames and hiding the eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt for his cousins. Michael's competitive nature was at its peak when racing his dad across the yard or wrestling on the lawn. He enjoyed playing football and took pride in wrestling on the Napoleon Wrestling Team reaching his goal of making the State Finals. He placed second in February of this year, with the team placing first for the fourth time in a row. Michael served as an altar boy and a member of the Squires. In school, he was involved in speech, FFA and student council.
Michael is survived by his parents, Lori and Stephen Gross; two brothers, Evan and Matthew; and one sister, Kayla, all living at home; his grandparents, Wilma and Alfred Gross, Napoleon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael and Patricia Jacob.

Michael is someone I will never forget. I think about him every single day. It's so hard knowing I'll never be able to see his smiling face again. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, I can't even imagine how hard this has been for them. The only thing that helps me deal with this, is knowing that Michael is happy now, because he's with God. I know I'll see him again someday. I love you Michael, always have and always will.

I knew Mike through FFA. When we met, we became instant friends. There was just that something about him. We could always sit down and have an easy conversation about anything. He was so caring, and when I was down he was always there to make me feel better. He always had a smile on his face, and tried to help in any way he could. Mike was such a good person, and I'll never forget him.

I can't even start to explain the sympathy I have for all of you. I didn't know Mike too well but I know what it feels like to lose someone extremely close to you and it takes awhile to heal. Always remember though, that Mike is "dancing with the Angels" up in Heaven with God and watches you all throughout the day. He talked about Michael often and what a good wrestler he was. He (Michael) probably never imagined that he had a young fan from Carrington.
