Michael McLaughlin Obituary
February 11, 1950 - March 30, 2025
Michael R. "Mike" McLaughlin passed away on March 30, 2025, in Glibert, Arizona. Born on February 11, 1950, at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, Mike was the eldest of four brothers born to Skip and Patricia McLaughlin.
Mike spent his early years in Mandan and later completed high school in Dickinson, graduating in 1968. On February 28, 1969, Mike married Darlene "Dar," beginning a union that would last 56 years. Together they had two children, Michele and David.
Mike dedicated over 35 years of service to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Outside of work, he found joy in hunting and fishing and had a passion for puzzles particularly crosswords and sudoku. Mike also enjoyed playing pinochle and watching classic, old films, especially westerns.
Mike is survived by his loving spouse Dar; daughter Michele (Ward) and grandchildren Alisa and Ronan; son David (Jennifer); and brother Kelly (Teri). He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and two brothers, Boyd and Brad.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mandan Eagles on July 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
