Don Coffey Obituary

Don Worley Coffey, 72, of Hendersonville, went home on Good Friday to be with his Lord, a whole person for the first time ever.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Azzalee Coffey.
His life began with many things most of us would never experience, but God had a plan; He doesn't make mistakes. Don became a blessing in his journey of life and acceptance.
First Baptist Church became his home, his safe place and his sanctuary. The people became his family; they became his love. Indeed, he had struggles, but he shared the Gospel until his death.
Don is survived by his adopted family, who loved and cared for him for over 20 years: Lowell and Jan Jarett, Tony, Kriss, Tori, and Alleigh Raymond, Mark and Carol Jarrett, and many family members who loved him unconditionally.
Thank you to: Darlene Lambert, Chris Mang, John Smith, Mark Williams, Tommy Manning for always taking the time to visit him; Wally Shamburger and Pastor Steve Scoggins for ministering to him; countless others for all the years you put joy into his life; Kim Gasperson for leading us and trusting us to take care of Don; and Greg Newman for always making Don feel special.
A special thanks to Hendersonville Health and Rehab for all the years of care and love you showed him, especially Valise Logan...you were by his side until the end.
To the Doctor at Pardee for laying hands on Don and praying over him…Thank you, dear doctor.
Elizabeth House was amazing. All the nurses and volunteers were so loving and caring, even crying as they heard his story. Thank you.
A private memorial service will be held on June 4th at 3 PM at the home of Lowell and Jan Jarrett.
In Don's honor, please make a donation to the Special Friend's Ministry at First Baptist Church, 312 Fifth Avenue W., Hendersonville, NC 28739; he would love that!
Isn't it just like Don to leave us on Good Friday? Jesus died at 3PM and Don died at 3:03 PM. He wanted to go out special, and he did just that. "Keep smiling!"
