Kathy Overcast Obituary
Kathy Ann Overcast, age 73, of Bolivar, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. She was born Nov. 2, 1950, in Humansville, to
John Leonard and Atilee Hagerman Kukal who preceded her in death. She graduated from Bolivar High School in the class of 1968. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from SMS.
Kathy had a very creative mind and outgoing, adventurous spirit that was reflected in the different hobbies and occupations she had throughout her memorable life. Kathy was an accomplished seamstress and operated her own fabric clothing store on the Bolivar square. She took great pride in designing and making clothing outfits for family and friends. Kathy also enjoyed her work in radio advertising sales with KTTS and KGBX. She was instrumental in increasing the radio advertising of the Branson area music shows and attractions during the
late 80's and early 90's. When Kathy wasn't selling ads or real estate, she was very involved in endurance horse racing. She had multiple top-10 finishes in the National Races. Kathy felt at home in the Rocky Mountains and while she was there, she raised therapy Cocker Spaniels. Kathy enjoyed oil and acrylic painting, and it brought her great satisfaction in painting pictures for her friends and loved ones. She had tremendous love for her family, especially her boys, and would not hesitate to tell anyone who would listen about how proud she was of their accomplishments.
Kathy is survived by her sons, Steve Gallivan and wife Sara of Halfway, and Russell Gallivan and wife Ami of Platteville, Colorado; six grandchildren, Madison, Sloan, Sammi, Shane, Brody, and Sterling; a sister Linda Rice and husband Gene of Bolivar; a niece Gelin Douglas and husband Pat of Bolivar; great-niece and-nephew, Josie, and Cy; as well as other relatives and friends.
According to Kathy's wishes her body will be cremated. Memorial services will take place Saturday, Jan, 27, at 11 a.m. at Pitts Chapel with Bro. Jerry Grant officiating. The burial will take place at a later date at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich. Online condolences

I was very saddened to find out Kathy had passed....been trying to call over last week &1/2....felt something was wrong...she was a very big part of my life!!! Pagosa Springs was a special time, and we ALWAYS stayed in touch...We were dear friends, and she will be sooo missed by me. But I'm sure she's out of pain and enjoying a happy & whole life now I'm so sorry for both YOU boys.

I was so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. We grew up close to each other, our parents were friends, we were in Greenlawn 4-H as kids and we rode the school bus together. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Kathy was a wonderful friend to my Mother Delores Votra they spent many many days and evenings together and spoke on the phone constantly along with their other friend Carol. She will absolutely be missed but the 3 of them can continue on now with their conversations and memories. I had the privilege of getting to know Kathy and spent many years with her being a big part of our lives. Thank you for the memories!! My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
