GALLARELLI, Albert J. "Al", age 91, of Wilmington, formerly a long-time resident of Charlestown and a true "Townie" at heart, passed away peacefully at home on December 16th, 2021. Al was the beloved husband of the late Cynthia M. (Enos) Gallarelli; devoted father of Boston Police Dept. Sgt./Detective Joseph Gallarelli and his partner Julie Hartshorn of Wilmington, and Mary Jo Brown and her husband Frank of Tewksbury. Loving "Snuffy" to his grandchildren Meaghann Merejildo and her husband Elicier, Caitlyn Andrews and her husband Kevin, Alyssa Gallarelli and her partner Lauren Zablocki, Angelina Gallarelli, Melissa Brown, Maxwell Brown; and great-grandchildren Eveline and Elijah Merejildo. Cherished son of the late James and Josephine (Pingiaro) Gallarelli; Al was the last of six siblings to pass and is survived by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Visiting Hours: Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), WILMINGTON, MA, on Monday, December 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Al will take place on Tuesday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, followed by his Interment with Military Honors at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Al proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard. He was the Past Grand Knight and Fourth Degree member of the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Fr. Croke Council #4982.
