We have not seen Andrew since he was a little boy. From reading the many condolences and memories from friends, family, team mates and colleagues at Brighams, he was without a doubt, an incredible human being. Marcia and Gerry, be proud and find some comfort in what the son you raised, meant and did for so many during his much too short life. To you, his wife and children and all family members, we are so sorry for your loss. Joe and Cathy Mosesso

I had the luck of meeting Andrew over the course of my time at BWH. You always knew when he showed up, everything would be ok. He was a kind and caring young man taken far too soon.
One thing that stands out is when my wife was in Shapiro . It was early in the morning and they had to call a rapid on her. Andrew showed up and immediately stated talking to my wife and me putting us at ease. The funny part is that he kept calling her Peggy, and the look on her face spoke volumes. I had to gently tell him she hated that and to call her Peg. Looking back it was a very funny moment during a stressful episode.
He will be greatly missed by our Brigham family. He mad a difference and will not be forgotten

Andrew was so kind and sharp and keen with his assessments.
He was a powerhouse at Brigham and Women´s. We all loved him dearly. He was so supportive to all of us especially during stressful times taking care of an unstable patient. You fought the good fight Andrew! We will miss you!

Andrew, you exemplified the true meaning of a nurse in every way possible. When I saw you coming in a highly chaotic situation, I knew my patient was going to be in the best hands. You were always patient, calm, knowledgeable, and willing to do whatever needed to be done. You glowed when you spoke of your family. Brigham won´t be the same without you there. You were taken too soon. My sincere condolences to your beautiful family and friends. Rest in the sweetest peace.

How fitting it is to see so many comments here from fellow nurses and co-workers as one of my most sticking memories of you is Senior year in HS writing on Mrs. Mosca´s chalkboard where we were going to college and what were we were going to school for. I admired not only your confidence in your "male nurse" answer but envious you had it all figured out! You took the playful jabs in stride and showed your humility. What´s also fitting is how friend Andrew is the same as work Andrew. No surprise to me you were exceptional at your job and were that same standup, all-around fantastic person across all your walks of life.
Miss you bud.

Andrew and I worked together in the ICU Float pool/Stat Nurse for many years. Andrew was always a positive force. Everytime I saw him, he would ask about my daughter by name and would eagerly listen to the new events in her life. He would always check on me/my assignment to see if I needed any help while we both worked the night shift. I would see him at change of shift when he switched to the day shift. He was a genuinely kind person and excellent nurse. I retired 3 years ago. When a friend notified me of his diagnosis I cried for Andrew and his family. What a tremendous loss to his family and the BWH family.

I am incredibly sad to hear of Andrew´s passing. He was a graceful, kind and genuine human being, gone too soon. Our Brigham family have lost a respected and impressive leader. I pray that the Lord Jesus gives his family the courage to face this difficult moment and the peace and joy in remembering all the beautiful memories.

When I was a baby nurse working on a med surg floor, Andrew was always a calming and welcoming presence in a not so calming and welcoming situation. As an ICU nurse now, I thank him for teaching me how to be calm in those situations. He was an amazing nurse and will be missed by so many.

Andrew and I were in nursing hospital orientation together in 2006. As I would see him throughout the hospital over the years, he never changed. Was always as happy, calm, and kind just as he was that very first day at the Brigham. Whenever he spoke of Danielle, Bennett, or Charlotte, his eyes would light up with pride. Danielle and family, Given the sadness that the whole Brigham community is feeling right now, I can´t imagine the sadness and loss you are enduring. He was literally an angel on earth. I hope you find comfort in knowing how much he was loved and admired by all of his fellow nurses. We will all think of him often and always. You finally got the wings you deserve. Rest easy, Bober.

I had the privilege of meeting Andrew through Milton soccer. I was lucky enough to have my son placed with Andrew as his head coach. Through the years I saw him work with the kids to impart not just soccer but life lessons. The kids all loved him and........how could you not?
He was kind, patient and knowledgeable in both soccer and life. He oozed warmth from the pores of his body - it was no surprise to me that nursing was his chosen profession and to see all the accolades he is currently receiving from his work colleagues.
He will be missed terribly. So sorry for your loss Danielle, Bennett, Charlotte, family, and friends.

I knew Andrew through the ICU float pool. Andrew was the type of nurse one aspires to be. He made a positive impact on every person he met and was a true joy to be around. He was such a compassionate, supportive, uplifting human. And I was always relieved to see him during my shift- knowing that no matter what went on that night, we were all safer and better with him there. My deepest condolences go out to Danielle, their children, and his whole family. What a tremendous loss.

When I think of the ideal representative of what nursing represents I think of Andrew; a kinder, more competent individual I can´t imagine. I cannot recall one instance where he was less than gracious and helpful even in the midst of a chaotic situation! He was so loved and appreciated throughout the hospital, we are so incredibly saddened at this loss! I hope that the memories of how much he was loved helps just a little bit at least.

This is so devastating. Not only was Andrew an amazing nurse, he was an amazing person in every way, shape, and form. I only knew him through his role as the BWH STAT RN, but every interaction he made you feel 100% supported and confident in your role as the RN. Even if he´d only met you once or twice through work, he remembered you and always had the biggest smile on his face. He made you feel like he was your friend. Rest in peace Andrew and my deepest condolences to Danielle and your beautiful babies.

My deepest condolences to Andrew´s wife Danielle, his children Bennett and Charlotte and his family.
I worked for many years at Brigham and Women´s in the Burn/Trauma/Surgical ICU and got to know Andy when he responded to a code or was assigned as a float nurse to our unit when our staffing was low. He cared for our challenging patients with exemplary professionalism, and the accolades with which he was awarded were well-deserved.

I had the honor of knowing Andrew as a colleague at BWH. He was a truly genuine and gentle person. Whenever I saw Andrew enter the room a smile would spread across my face because I knew his knowledge and calmness as a nurse would save the day. But he was more than a colleague, he was a friend and he made the world a better place. Andrew's passing is a tremendous loss. My heartfelt condolences to Andrew's wife, children and family. I feel lucky to have known him. With Love, Sandra Nogueira

Andrew was the stat nurse who showed up to my first rapid response when I was a new grad. I was terrified but he was so calm and talked me through every step with grace and support. I´ll never forget his kindness and the encouragement he gave. When we crossed paths again when I became an ICU nurse later, he was still the smiling, uplifting energy we all needed. May he rest peacefully.

Danielle: Your soul mate was a special man, loved and respected by all who knew him. His infectious smile and positive outlook-even through the most challenging times-will be sorely missed.

Andrew was an extraordinary nurse full of compassion with a quiet spirit. Andrew took care of my dad who was having a GI bleed on the floor after he was denied transfer to the MICU. The night administer placed him on the floor to 1:1 him . My dad received 10 units of PRBC´s and 11FFP over the course of the day via IV in his feet. My dad said he never had a male nurse before but he took such good care of him. I was so grateful. I was blessed to see Andrew this summer when he came in for a scan not knowing that was our last hug. My condolences to his family.Heaven just got another angel.Andrew earned his wings. This is major loss to Brigham nurse group as well. RIP my friend.

Cool, calm, and collected. That was Andrew. As a struggling nurse on the floors you would call a rapid response, not sure what to do. Then, Andrew showed up. A sigh of relief. Not only was he good to us as staff nurses, but so calm and gentle with the critically ill patients. Andrew was the epitome of a nurse. What the rest of us should aspire to be. We will miss you, and keep your family in our thoughts. Thanks for teaching me, and the rest of us. Rest easy my friend.

Andrew was an exceptional nurse, coworker, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. When I did charge in the MICU and saw his name I would say I want Andrew. He would bring a sense of calmness to the unit when it was busy and chaotic. Thoughts and prayers to his family and float pool staff.

Andrew was an incredible nurse and he was just a genuinely good person. I started as a new grad in the float pool and Andrew was one of the first nurses I met. I didn´t always work with the same staff each shift, but it was comforting to know that no matter which unit I was on, he would be one of the familiar faces responding to a code. I can confidently say, new grad or senior nurse, Andrew was the one you hoped to have by your side in any code situation. His calm presence brought comfort to both patients and colleagues. His kindness, positivity, deep knowledge, and support made all the difference. It was an honor to work with him and his legacy will live on at the Brigham. Sending so much love to his family

I worked with Andy at BWH. He was always always always smiling, he did his job with his entire heart and soul. His patients healed in his presence because of how pure he was as a spirit. When I think of Andy, I picture him in his blue Angelica scrubs with the code back pack on his shoulders. He was the superhero who saved the day at Brighams. I am sure he was even more amazing in life, it´s something you can just tell. My sincerest condolences to his family, wife and babies. Sending hugs.

I had known Andrew for a few years when I was a new nurse at BWH and had always looked up to him. He was so intelligent and so welcoming. His spirit was just so wonderful to be around, even if you were in the middle of a code. He is the reason I became an ICU nurse, although I never got the chance to tell him that. My last encounter with Andrew occurred in a rapid response situation that escalated into a code. I vividly remember him standing on the left side of the head of the bed, exuding calmness in the midst of chaos. His absence left a profound impact on his patients and colleagues. It is a tragic loss for both his family and the Brigham community. Sorry for your loss. I prayed for strength and comfort.

I worked for years in the BWH Pacu. I had the pleasure of seeing Andrew float to the unit many times. He was not only a skilled and compassionate nurse but an even better human. While I only knew Andrew from work, what I can say is he was one of the best nurses I ever worked with. As a STAT nurse he responded to emergencies throughout the hospital. His arrival would bring a sense of relief to the staff, who all knew him. He delivered care with a smile, he always was upbeat, and you could tell he loved his job. He touched so many lives at work, saved so many lives and ultimately made us all better nurses. I know this is only a small part of who he was but he was so great at it, I can only imagine the void elsewhere his passing has left. You will be missed.

I am so very sorry for your loss. He will be sorely missed. I had the privilege of working with Andrew at BWH and often rode the shuttle bus with him. We had several conversations about his family and he beamed with pride. Professionally, he has already been missed sorely. He was always a calm voice and presence in every chaotic situation. He always had a smile on his face and was consistently happy to be helping. I never once heard him speak ill of anyone or complain about anything. He was a delight to be around. Thank you for sharing him with us for as long as he was here.
Love and prayers to all of you

Working day shift at the Brigham involves taking a shuttle before and after shifts to get back to your car. The day I met Andrew I was standing with a co-worker who was friends with him as we all waited for the shuttle. Shortly after we heard the news that there was a delay with on the shuttles and we´d have to wait an additional 30 minutes for a shuttle. Without hesitation Andrew called an Uber and was kind enough to invite others around him to join in. I was one of the lucky ones who got to join. It sounds silly when writing out this story but the memory stuck with me how kind it was (and for anyone who works 12 hour shifts you probably get it!) That was the only interaction I ever had with Andrew but it was a simple act that displayed just a fraction of the compassionate in which I have heard he exhibited with his patients. To his family and friends I am truly so sorry for your loss.

When I was a brand new nurse on my own on night shift, I had to call a rapid response on a patient I thought was sick- I was not confident yet in emergencies and wasn´t sure if I had overreacted. Andrew was the responding stat nurse- he made me feel so much better about my skills and my gut. He told me I had done right and helped walk me through what to do next. I´ve been an ER nurse for years now but I will always remember the kindness he showed me and the confidence he instilled in me at the beginning. I am so sad for your loss, what an amazing person he was- to have been robbed of so many years but to have had a positive impact on so many more people than an average person. Much love to his loved ones and so sorry for this loss.

I am so very sorry for all of you and your tremendous loss. Andrew was an incredible person, an amazing nurse and the person you wanted by your side during any emergency. When Andrew came to the floor, I would always say "Oh good it´s Bober!" because his calming demeanor always put you as ease. I met Andrew over 17 years ago at BWH. This is a huge loss for the Brigham and Andrew will forever be missed by all

Dear Marsha and Gerry, So sorry for the loss of your son, Andrew . I know how difficult it is to loose a son. My few encounters with him were very much enjoyed, especially when talking about his children. One time I was in need of his help when my mother fell in the yard. I ran to the house screaming I couldn´t get her up. He immediately came and picked her up and helped her. I don´t even think he knew me at that time. I was so grateful for his help. My love and prayers are with you both during this difficult period.
Love your former neighbor Carol.

Danielle, Bennett, Charlotte and loving parents and family of Andrew.. a devastating loss to our world and to our profession! Andrew was one of the finest nurses I have ever known! I remember interviewing him so long ago and I just knew he would be one of the best to ever work and walk the hallways of BWH. So kind, so caring, so smart and yes so handsome . Thanks for the loving care you gave all of our patients and families. And I know Danielle will continue to check in "often" for your advice and loving support. My special condolences to those beautiful children.. and to Andrew´s parents that I have had the pleasure of knowing. I could write a book all about you Andrew. So glad Ingot to see you and hug you at Walgreens in August. And I got to tell you how loved ge was by all. Rest in Peace my friend and colleague. You left your mark and a legacy like no other. I love you Andrew Bober
