ANDREW O'CONNOR Obituary

O'CONNOR, Andrew Patrick (BPD) A lifelong member of the Brighton community, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2024. He was the loving son of Mary (Forde) O'Connor and her partner, William Strahan, of Brighton, and Gerard O'Connor and his wife, Clare, of Moultonborough, NH. Devoted brother of Gerard and his fiancée, Alyssa Maziarz, Michael, Matthew, Rory and Tess O'Connor. Beloved of Jillian Deeb. Predeceased by his cherished grandparents, Simon "Frank" & Kathleen (Griffin) Forde of County Galway, and Timothy & Theresa (Kelliher) O'Connor of County Kerry. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins, here locally and over in Ireland, along with many friends and brothers and sisters of the Boston Police Department. Andrew found his calling as a proud member of the Boston Police Department, joining the force in 2021. He honorably served the residents of East Boston (A-7) with distinction, where he was loved by members of the community. Andrew will be remembered by his coworkers as a great police officer and as an even better person. Andrew was a proud "Brighton boy" whose handsome smile, quick wit, and personality lit up the room! He was an incredible athlete always on the move.  Andrew loved nature and the outdoors, especially when visiting family in Ireland. He loved cooking for his family at the holidays, having attended Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (near the Brighton Courthouse), on Thursday, March 7 at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill, at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Funeral Mass can be livestreamed at youtube.com/@saintignatiuschestnuthill Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting Hours will be on Wednesday, March 6th, from 4-8pm. Andrew was a proud member of the Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston.
