MASSIMINO, Anthony A resident on the North River in Hanover, died February 21, 2016 at the age of 81. Tony was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of '52 and a member of the Boston College Class of '56. As a Golden Eagle, he greatly valued his lifelong friendships with this group of exceptional and talented classmates. He enjoyed lunches at Amrheins Restaurant in South Boston, concerts, trips, and many college functions with these very special classmates. Many colleagues attended his Tony Team - Just Because parties. The wonderful Italian food was accompanied by the best Irish music played by his life-long friends, The McTeggarts. Tony was the owner of Massimino Weddings of Hanover. His skills in wedding consulting made many South Shore brides very happy. He was also a part of Massimino's Restaurant of Roslindale, where every Sunday there was an open house for the family and any serviceman that happened to be in the area. As a real estate consultant for over 30 years, 27 with the Jack Conway Company, Tony was instrumental in finding and negotiating the purchase of the present world headquarters of Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. Tony also participated in establishing REMAX in Southeastern Mass. Tony held the SRES designation as an accredited Senior Real Estate Specialist. Beloved friend of Geraldine Herbert, loving father of Anna Baldwin and husband Ed of NC, Lisa Magiera and husband, Eric, of ME. Devoted grandfather to Brianna, Jordan and Nicholas. Brother of the late Mario Massimino and Camilla Rodger. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, Betty Ann, Joseph, Eddie and Michael of FL, Joan and Tommy of MA, Jimmy of RI, and Joseph of WA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Celebration that will be held at St. Mary's Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, on Thursday, Feb 25th at 10 am. Donations in memory of Tony may be made to The Fund for BC High, Boston College High School, 150 William Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125. Ahhh, Tony, you are missed by so many! You brought so much joy and kept so many connections alive among our family circle and your friends. Everyone will remember the amazing reunion parties you held almost every year at your home on River Street in Hanover. Always an amazing conglomeration of people. It is hard to believe it has been 5 years since you left us. You were fortunate to miss the Trump presidency and the covid-19 pandemic that has changed the way the whole world lives. From your heavenly home please pray for all of us and our world. RIP Anthony!

I worked for Tony at Pantoosett Farms Country Club from '72 to '76 and thought of him often since that time. He ws a great man, good friend and a good man to work for. He was also friends with my parents Les & Joan Algar of Kinston Ma. I last saw Tony in 2000 at Briggs Stables in Hanover Ma. we took a few minutes to catch up, laugh and say good bye not knowing it would be our last conversation.

To Gerri and all of Tony's family,

I feel so badly that I just now saw this obituary, at Noon on February 25th. Alas, my husband and I missed the mass for one of our most beloved friends and an amazing cousin. We do not know how we missed it. Please know that we wish we had been in attendance. Sweet Anthony aka Sonny will be missed by us! We love you Tony. Rest in Peace.

To Uncle Sonny, may you have as many close and loving friends in the afterlife as you had here on earth. We will all miss the summer parties at your house on the North River that brought families and friends together. I miss Easter Sunday dinners at your house when I was a kid, hoping for some snow so we might go sledding down the hill to the river. Our deepest condolences to Gerri, Anna, Lisa, and their families. Tony will be in our family prayers and forever in our hearts.
