Aveline Tomoko Kushi

Aveline Tomoko, 78, internationally recognized leader of the macrobiotic movement, promoter of East-West cultural exchange, and pioneer of the natural foods industry died July 3, 2001. Aveline Kushi is survived by her husband, Michio Kushi, her four sons, Norio, Haruo, Phlya and Hisao. She is also survived by four sisters, and three brothers, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter Lily. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Aveline Kushi Memorial Fund through the Kushi Institute, P.O. Box 7, 198 Leland Road, Becket, MA, 01223. Burial will take place Saturday July 28, 2001 at seven p.m. on the family land at the Kushi Institute, 198 Leland Road, Becket, Massachusetts.
