BILL CASEY Obituary

CASEY, Bill Age 58, of Boston and Provincetown, MA, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. The private Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 15, at Arlington Street Church (351 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116). Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com . A 501(c)3 is being established in Bill's memory to assist aspiring music students. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the organization with complete details forthcoming. William Allen Casey was born September 2, 1963, in Charleston, SC, the son of William West Casey and Rebecca Cook Casey. He earned his B.M. and M.M. in Piano Performance from the Louisiana State University and did postgraduate work at the University of Missouri— Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Bill Casey joined the Boston Conservatory in 1999 and was an instructor in Musical Theater. He studied piano with Joanne Baker, Jack Guerry and William Knight, and voice with Inci Bashar. Casey's experience as a coach/accompanist, singer, actor, editor, and teacher is extensive. His recording credits for Hall Leonard Publications include several collections of music for voice and piano, as well as a series with the Grammy award-winning ensemble Canadian Brass for Hall Leonard Publications. Casey served on the editorial staff of G. Schrimer's Operatic Aria Anthologies. He was the principal coach/ accompanist for the Kansas Civic Opera Theater. Regional opera credits include The Pirates of Penzance, The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus and Il Matrimonio Segreto. He has music directed numerous productions at the Boston Conservatory including Candide, West Side Story, Street Scene, Curtains, The Screams Of Kitty Genovese, Kismet, Brigadoon, A Grand Night For Singing, and Iolanthe, as well as the yearly Boston Conservatory Freshman Revue. He music directed the American premiere of The Captain's Daughter, which he later music directed in St. Petersburg, Russia. Bill was also a popular Boston cabaret performer and worked extensively with the nationally renowned Boston Gay Men's Chorus. Survivors include his husband, Reuben Matthew Reynolds, III; his mother, Rebecca Cook Casey of Greensboro, GA; his brother, Chris Eugene Casey; and his nieces and nephews, Ben, Lucie, Anne, and Jack Reynolds. Bill was preceded in death by his father. Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, BAINBRIDGE, GA, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321).
