LINEHAN, Brian Charles It is with great sadness that we, his family, announce the passing of Brian Charles Linehan of Duxbury on Tuesday, March 20th surrounded by his family and held in their arms. Beloved and devoted husband and best friend, of thirty eight years, to Janice Murphy Linehan. Beloved and adored father of Cara Linehan Esch (Scituate, Ma) and Meaghan Linehan Grimes (Durham, Maine) and their husbands Thomas Esch and William Judd Grimes. Devoted and beloved Son of Ann Kelly Linehan and the late Daniel Linehan of Roslindale. Brother of Gerard Linehan and his wife Karen, West Roxbury, Kathleen Linehan-Henderson and her husband John, Milton, Dr. Lisa Linehan, Roslindale and Mark Linehan, Roslindale. Beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces. Cherished Son in law of Marguerite (Peggy) Murphy of Duxbury. First and foremost, Brian was a devoted and very proud family patriarch and held his family in importance above all else, and we adore him. Brian was Counsel to the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue/Child Support Enforcement-Plymouth County. A member of Massachusetts Bar Association and Counsellor and Attorney of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Graduate of Catholic Memorial High School(class of 1969), Georgetown University (Business School class of 1973) and Suffolk University Law School (Juris Doctorate 1977). Brian was a lineman for the Georgetown University Football Team and member of the Georgetown University Club Rugby Team and an active Georgetown Hoya Alumni. A volunteer coach for many years for Duxbury Youth Hockey/ Duxbury Girls Hockey and Duxbury Girls Softball and a member of the Tabor Academy Day Student Parents Committee and University of Vermont Parents Association. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, (Rte 106) KINGSTON, on Fri., March 23rd, from 5-9PM. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home on Sat., March 24th at 11:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Duxbury, at 12:00 noon. Interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Memorial remembrances in Brian's honor may be made to The Angiogenesis Foundation,c/o Dr. Vincent Li, PO Box 382111, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02238 or to Georgetown University, Hoyas Unlimited (Football Program) McDonough Arena, Washington, DC 20057. Janice and family, We were very sorry to read of Brian's death. You have a wonderful family. We can always remember you coming to the fish market on Christmas eve day to bring us those delicious cookies. Them and a cup of tea kept us going. God bless Brian. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
