Carol DADDIO Obituary

DADDIO, Carol-Ann Pierce A beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away on March 8, 2025, in her home in South Easton, MA. She was 70 years old. Born on August 13, 1954, in New Haven, CT to the late Mary and Gregory Daddio, Carol lived a vibrant and full life. She was known for her infectious energy, her generosity, kind heart and her unwavering devotion to her family and nursing career.

Carol is survived by her former spouse, Joseph Pierce; two children, daughter Kayla Pierce, son Michael Pierce, daughter-in-law, Anh Pierce; and her two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Vivienne. Sister to Pamela Pieper, Patricia Binkoski and Gregory Daddio.

Carol had a remarkable way of lighting up the room and her playful spirit made her a joy to be around. She was very fond of taking bike rides through the Cape and immersing herself in books on the beach. Carol loved to celebrate life's moments, big and small. She was a master at creating special memories and traditions, from spooky Halloween décor to carrying on the Daddio meatball and sauce recipe. Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished in the stories she told, the traditions she created and the love she shared.

Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., at Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St., SOUTH EASTON. A Prayer Service will begin promptly, at 6:00 p.m., after.

I first met Carol at NWH where she was the educator for the CCU/MICU and was impressed by her intelligence, kindness and breadth of knowledge. Years later after I had been working at BWH for a number of years I was delighted to bump into her and learn that she had taken a position at the Brigham. Carol was an excellent nurse, a great educator and a wonderful person. Her dedication to nursing and her colleagues was inspirational.
I am so sorry to learn of her passing and extend my condolences to her family.

Sending my sincerest condolences to Carol´s family. I´ll always remember her
kindness, patience and sense of humor.
She was a wonderful nurse, both as a caregiver and as a staff educator. Carol always had a big smile for everyone and offered encouragement just when you needed a kind word. The Brigham was lucky to have her.
Rest in peace, Carol. You were among the best.

Carol, you were like a second mom to me at both of our home away from home. We both started at the Brigham right around the same time and on the same unit under the best nurse manager the late Maureen Curley. To say you loved to teach is an understatement. Anytime I had a question you were there for me. Your knowledge was so inspiring. You were always up for a good time and watching you dance to Michael Jackson was always the best. My condolences to your children who you always spoke so highly of and to your grandchildren whom you couldn´t be more proud to be their grandmother. There will always be a place in my heart for you.

Carol I´m so sad to hear you passed away way before your time. I´m thinking of your family whom you spoke about with such pride and love. I know you will be with them always.
You made such a difference in your life. I knew you for 20 years during my career in the MICU and have such fond memories of everything you taught me. I can remember vividly you there in the trenches with me when troubleshooting various technology and treatments with critically ill patients. You always jumped in with your expertise and hands on help.
I also remember giggling with you over silly stuff and it makes me smile.
You will be so missed. Thinking of your family.

I first met you on 14CD at BWH way back when you were our Educator. Your calm presence and abundant knowledge is just what we all needed on our busy medical floor. Years passed and we both moved on to different areas for a bit but I would see you in passing and you always had a smile and a hug waiting for me. I would see you outside the hospital at a nursing conference that you would be teaching or a nursing dinner. It always felt like home when I would see you. You will always be in my heart.

Carol inspired her colleagues to immerse themselves with evidence-based nursing practice. She was the queen who excelled in organized chaos. Carol engaged healthcare disciplines to be perceptive of each others practices. She championed all of our Critical Care practices. Thank you, Carol, for your lifelong dedication to improving patient care and our nurses who continue to deliver it.

I was so devastated to read of your passing, Carol. You were truly one of a kind. You gave me support when I was brand new to the Brigham and always had a kind word to say or a huge smile when we crossed paths. We lost you here but we gained a light in the sky.

Oh Carol. I am so sad. I will
miss our great days at MNA teaching ACLS together for all those years. It will not be the same without you. My deepest condolences to Kayla and Mike and your whole family. Such a tragic loss to you and to all who knew her. Carol: I will toss back a martini at Amelia´s for you. We never made it there as we planned. Love, Linda (Barton)

We worked with her at BMC and called her "Spike". This is so very sad. She was a GREAT nurse with the BEST sense of humor and the greatest laugh. She was always there when you needed help. Fly high into the arms of God, Spike. Thank you for your years of service and all that you did for the nursing profession. Thank you for all that you gave to your fellow nurses. Much respect.
