Dear Mrs. D. and all the family:
I was extremely sorry to hear about Mr. D's health problems in recent years, and it is very sad to hear today of his passing. But we all live in hope that his suffering is over and he is in a better place now. I hope that belief provides some comfort to you.
I will always remember his smile and laugh and the fun times we enjoyed with him at NU in the Student Union and also as volunteer workers for his masterfully-organized NU Commencement operations. I will also never forget the help he gave me when I was getting ready to fund my graduate education here in NYC.
He always had a joke or a smile or a helpful piece of advice, and on most occasions, all three at once. He was a lovely man and we will all miss him and remember him and the happiness he brought. God bless you all and may He look after Charlie on a comfy cloud up there.
Sincere sympathy from
Jeannie Ryder
