Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Dearest David:

Mom & I have searched high & low for the perfect words to sign this book. Here we are at the 1 year anniversary and we still have not come up with the perfect words.

It sure is hard to understand “why” God took you from us so soon, but as the saying goes it is not for us to wonder why. You were a great father, husband, son, brother, & friend, you are missed more everyday. Mom & I hope that you have had a great reunion with Dad, Cheryl, Nana P, Uncle Phil, Uncle Windy ( Bill) and all the rest of our loved ones.

We are all truly blessed to have had you in our lives. You taught us all so much – but the biggest lesson we all should have learned from you was to always be true to ourselves.

This is not goodbye, you will live in our hearts forever.

Until we meet again, my friend, keep smiling down on all of us.

Love,

Mom & Deb

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
