David W. STAPLETON

STAPLETON, David W. III Known by all as Tripp, passed away, on May 17, 2023, in San Francisco, CA, at the age of 56, after a long illness.

Tripp grew up in Dover, MA with friends and family who shared his sense of adventure, interest in sports and a love of music. After graduating from Dover-Sherborn Regional High School and earning a Bachelor's degree from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, Tripp's wanderlust took him west.

Tripp landed in California and eventually he settled in San Francisco, where he worked in a variety of industries, including many years as a project manager at Charles Schwab and Co. However, Tripp built his life around a growing number of friends and loved ones who shared his sense of humor, intelligence and creative interests. He became a film-maker, photographer, self-described, almost passable golfer, skier and skilled drummer. He remained a lifelong fan of playing and hearing live music, especially when he was with friends and family from both coasts.

Tripp leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth of San Francisco; his parents, David and Joan of Dover, MA; his sister, Jennifer of Boston, MA; and aunt, Susan P. Stapleton of Boston. To the friends who were like family and the family's own friends, you are invited to celebrate Tripp's authenticity, wry humor, creativity and warrior spirit at the American Legion Hall, in Dover, MA, on June 23,2023, from 5:00 pm. to 7:00 pm.
