EDWARD F. GALLAGHER

GALLAGHER, Edward F. A longtime Needham resident, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 99, at home surrounded by his family. Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith L. Gallagher of 55 years. He was the loving father of Nancy L. Murphy and her husband, William of Mansfield, Edward J. Gallagher and his wife, Susan of Leighton, PA, Robert P. Gallagher and his wife, Christine of Laconia, NH, Laurie A. Longee and her husband, Christopher of Northbrook, IL and Joanie M. Gallagher of North Attleboro. He is survived by 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ed was born one of seven children in Springfield, MA, on December 22, 1925, to James and Irene Gallagher. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Harkins, Naples, FL. He was predeceased by his siblings, William Gallagher, Jean Jurek, Sr. Mary Gallagher, John Stamant and Robert Stamant. He was an avid golfer and a veteran of World War II in the 5th Armored Division. Visiting Hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, on Monday, August 25, from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home, on Tuesday, August 26, at 10 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Needham, at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
