Dear Sandy:

I don't know if you remember us, Carol and Roy Eisenberg from Lexington in the late 70's and 80's. Our daughter, Robyn, was Ellen's friend. Sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts are with you.

In this time of unexpected mourning, my deepest condolences go to Sandra, Ellen, and Richard, and to all the family and friends who knew, loved, and respected Frank. I will always remember Frank for the great kindness he has shown me over the years. It was such a pleasure to know him, whether listening to his jokes, talking with him about sailing, or just hanging out, Frank was a great presence of warmth, fun, and wisdom in my life. One of the things that amazed me most about Frank was the great and sincere interest he always took in the younger generations. I am sorry he will not be able to meet my son. Of course, I will always cherish the outings on Starbuck. Frank took such pleasure in sailing, and it was my honor to share in that. Frank was also a man of great generosity, both in welcoming us to his boat and his homes, and in sharing his thoughts and well-wishes. He is greatly missed.

To the Rothstein family,

My deepest sympathy for this loss. Although I only had the good fortune of meeting Frank a few times, he was always so kind and welcoming to me. He had a special talent for immediately putting you at ease and making you feel like you've known each other for years. I know his generous and warm soul touched many lives and will be greatly missed by many, but all of the special memories he created, whether you'd known him for 30 minutes or 30 years or more, will remain forever.

Every time I saw Frank he greated me with a warmness and kindness that is seen in only the greatest of people. Every time we spoke he was so genuinely interested in how I was doing and how my family was, which serves as testament to how great and kind of a person he was. He was a loving Father and a Tremendous Grandfather and he will be sorely missed.

It is with sadness that I learned of the death of my first cousin, Frank Rothstein. But one year older than myself we were very close childhood friends although it has been 27 years since last I saw him. My condolences and sympathies to Sandra, Ellen, Richard, and their families.

To the Rothstein family. You have every reason to be proud of Frank. He was the ultimate professional in business, and very devoted to his family. Even though we represented Ashley at the opposite ends of the continent, Frank was always kind and friendly and interested in how things were going in the "west."

Frank's sudden death shocked us. Only a day or so before, as we were driving in our neighborhood we caught sight of him jogging,
waved to him and he returned the greeting.

As a neighbor who moved into the same neighborhood about the same time, we will miss stopping and chatting with him.

Of course Rita and I send our condolences to Sandy and the rest of the family.

I am so sorry for this lost. I have the pleasure to meet Frank only at markets because I leave in Chile. But he was always nice and kind with me, greeting me every time with great pleasure. He always was interested in this part of the world, asking me of weather, places to visit, my family and also how Ashley was doing down here.
Received from me my deepest sympathy for his tragedy lost, god keep will keep him and his family at his side.

Dear Rothstein Family:
I only had the opportunity to meet Frank in person once but was fortunate enough to be able to visit and work with him over the phone thousands and thousands of times! He is one of the most caring and sincere individuals I know that had such a true passion for life! Frank taught me many things over the years that I will remember and cherish forever. As many others have mentioned, I too, will never forget that giggle of his! He will be sadly missed, but I'm sure will always be smiling down at all of us and how can we help but not smile back! My deepest sympathies to all....

Dear Sandra & Family I was in Tupelo for market the 1st time and didn't have a place to stay as I was asked to be there last minute. I was contacted by Frank and he made room for me in the attic of the house where he was staying. He was in one part of the attic and I was in another part and it was quite an experience being there as Frank knew all the history of this home, owned by the town pharmacist and knew all the items in the home so it was an education being around this fine man. This was a market experience I have never forgotten.

Frank epitomized what a true gentleman is. His attitude and genuineness in which he approached life really had an impact on me. He always made time for others...even if you were just a youngster starting his Ashley career from Middle America.

Frank was a very special person to us. My husband, Eric, asked me to marry him on "Starbuck," Frank's beautiful Cape Dory. From that day on, we felt a closeness to Frank that will endure a lifetime. We sailed with Frank and eventually bought our own boat. Frank has always been a caring and kind man, always asking us how our daughter was and always sending us a seasonal card to let us know how his family is doing. He will be missed by us terribly- We Love you Frank!!!

Frank was my mentor, business associate and most of all a very dear friend. After I suddenly lost my father Frank became an almost surrogate father to me. I’m blessed to have known him for over 25 years. His wisdom, insights and sense of humor were always there when I needed just those things.

I’ve worked with Frank…sailed together with him and spent countless hour conversing with him about every subject you can imagine. The picture I’ve posted is from one of our sailing trips to Nantucket and captures him candidly pursuing one of his passions at the helm of his beloved Starbuck.

Through him I was able to get to know his family and feel they are an extension of my own. His commitment to his wife and children is a model to be followed. I know he loved them very deeply. My heart is with Sandra, Richard and Ellen. May God comfort you in your time of need and give you strength in the times ahead.

What a gentle giant among men. Frank was my mentor at Ashley Furniture. He calmed me when things weren't going well, and celebrated with me when things were good.
I'll never forget that giggle, his quiet advice that was always just what was needed.
I loved the man, and will forever miss him.
I so wish I could be there with Frank's family and friends tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you.
