George Randall Obituary

RANDALL, George A. Jr. "Gar" Died suddenly and unexpectedly January 17, at age 65. Beloved father of Jessica Randall of Lawrence and Beth Randall of Newburyport, he and his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Randall (Sharp) cherished the love and humor that had united them since they met in college. He also leaves his sister, Margery Jackson, of Plano, TX. Gar had S.B. and M.S. degrees from MIT. A native of Newbury and Newburyport, he was an independent chemical engineering consultant, a former president of the Boston Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and had worked for Atlantic Richfield in Chicago, IL, and for Distrigas in Everett, where he became assistant plant manager. I happen to find this scrap of paper which I found in a box of papers I had kept for almost 30 years. I changed careers from Chemical engineering to medicine in 1995 when I entered medical school but obviously was still getting a chemical engineering magazine. The scrap of paper recounts apparently George Randall recounting a story of his father, apparently George Randall Sr., as George Jr says he was 3 1/2 years old in 1948, if I read the article correctly. I am retired now going through boxes of old papers and thought I would reach out to see if a family member would see this. Not that it is much, but I would want someone to do the same for me regarding a family relative.
