I was a fixture at foleys circa the early 2000s . Jim
Always treated me and my pals
Well . He was a first rate ball buster but i loved him for it and when he wasn´t razzing me , we did have some in depth conversations. I just went by today hoping to see Savage , only to learn he had left us all . And i say that in the collective because he joked and played with us all and we all loved it . My heart broke to learn Jim passed away . He was a love and thorn and sometimes both on the same day ! But we all adored him . Rest in peace .

Absolutely stunned and sadden over just hearing this news, apparently I've been living under a rock! I had been wondering why I had not heard from back you in all these months, to which I came down to JJ's just last evening to see you! James you were such a gent in this world, and I can't believe we will no longer be graced with your presence, wit and intelligence. We never got to the bottom of finding out where our mate Rudolph is! Rudy if your out there and see this please let us know your ok! And I hope where ever you are you can watch over us all, as well as this year's football season, which should be quite an interesting once since Josh McDaniels took head coach position with the Raiders and the smart guy that he is, took James Garoppolo with him!! And oh yeah, Tom Brady officially retired from football again and is now minority owner of the WNBA champions the Las Vegas Aces, and not to mention minority owner of English second-tier soccer team Birmingham England of all things!! Til we meet again my friend!!!!

You were much more than a great bartender. You were a larger than life welcoming presence who brought many people together that became lifelong friends. I can see you standing @ Heaven´s gates chirping St. Peter & us just like ya did when I´d walk into Foley´s on Kingston Street! Love & miss ya buddy. JK

Such a character. A living example to my American colleagues as to why, having grown up in the north of England, am as I am. Never been so happy to be blatantly insulted for having played rugby union. Rest in peace, Jimmy, rest in peace

James always remembered every "character" that came into JJ Foleys.. he was always welcoming with a bit of cheekiness. I always enjoyed his stories of his latest travel which he immensely enjoyed. Sad loss of a beautiful human.

It is so sad that Jim passed away. My wife Nancy and I always enjoyed our visits to JJ Foley's and Jim's quick wit and spicy rapport, even if he used rag on me for being a Cockney. We always talked about music and how lucky we are for having moved to the US. Jim will be sadly missed and a vist to the excellent Foley's will never be quite the same again.
Cheers mate, rest in peace

Such a shock and so sad. Will miss Jim's trips home to Warrington and our chats on rugby league and The Wire.
He was such a loyalty supporter of The Wire and a great guy who will be missed.

Can't say enough about what a true gentleman Jim Savage was.
As a fellow UK expat, he made me feel at ease, brought a touch of humor to my day and the world has lost one of it's best.
Rest in Peace, Jim.
