Dear Paul and Laura,

I am Barbara and John Joseph's son David. My brother Paul and I used to be in Sunday school with you both in Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Matthews' classes. We were originally from Brockton and moved to Connecticut shortly after the Nikolla family had moved down there. Our parents used to be friends with your parents when we were all little.

I got the news about your father from my mother a few minutes ago on the phone. I don't even know if you remember us, but I wanted to express my condolences to you both and to your families, on behalf of my brother and I, and of course my parents.

My family and I are thinking of you with love, and send you our deepest sympathies. Your father and your mother were dear people. We all remember the 'good old days' when we were kids, back in the seventies with fondness.

I will always remember your father as that tall, dignified man in the pews at St. George's, with the dark eyes, the warm smile and the gentle manner.
