Anyone can be a father; it takes a lot of effort to be a dad. Johnny was my dad and a real natural at it. John had enormous strength, love and commitment in treating me as his own son. Family was always 1st; Sunday breakfasts with Uncle Tom, frequent dinners with Uncle Al, Lucile and Jennifer, Christmas' always at Aunt Ellie and Joe's, always a place at the table for Uncle Billy to have his coffee. He spoke so highly of everyone's accomplishments, taking great pride in being part of the Ausiello family. As I get older and see how the world can be so cynical, never once did John utter a negative smear against anyone; as I reflect back that really embodied his character as a guardian. He was so charismatic, loving, caring, dedicated, generous, wise, inspiring and provided me the blueprint for my life. It was an easy decision to make John the best man at my wedding, he was my hero. His legacy will live on in all that knew him and in my beautiful children Mikaela, Samantha and Elijah. They too will learn where sympathy can be found. I only hope that I can give them half of the greatness that Johnny gave me.

Lord,
I thanked you every day for bringing John into my life. I ask you take good care of him for he will be a great angel in your army.
