Katie, we were sorry to hear about your dad's sudden death. Although Big Peter and I did not know your father, he sounded like a wonderful human being that not only you but many others will miss. We hope that you, Peter and the rest of your family do well with your grief.

We were so sorry to belatedly hear of Jon's passing, but news takes a little longer to reach us now.

We pass along our sincerest thoughts to the family.

Jon loved his family, his country and his Corps. He will be missed by all who knew him. His generosity and his kindness were wonderful traits. A fine Marine who enjoyed calling himself "Tent Peg" when communicating with me. From his buddy, Baseplate. (Dick)

To the Strong family: Jon's sudden death cast a shadow over our 55th Reunion. His loss to you was also felt by his classmates. I met Tiny during our first week as freshmen, and I have admired him ever since. He was the presenter when I received the Alumni Award in 2008. I regret that I can not attend the service this week. May his memory always serve as a blessing to all of you.

Sending my deepest condolences. I worked with Jon on the Mainstone Village Trust. He was a wonderful proponent of Mainstone and worked very hard to keep the area in the best condition. We will miss him on the Board.

How sad it is to lose Jon. I have known him since he did the outstanding work that transformed the Paine Estate in Wayland into the great asset it is now, with assisted living, conservation land and so much more. I was also aware of his involvement with environmental issues. Most recently, he and Sonja hosted the Wayland Sailing Association at Mainstone, continuing his civic, social and sporting contributions - always with wisdom and a smile.

With deepest sympathy,

My sincere condolences to the Strong family. I had the pleasure of knowing Jon through the Retired Men's Association. He was a member of my Program Committee and was always a dependable contributor. I and the members of my Committee will miss his intellectual contributions.

Sincerely,
Morton Brond
