When I talked to Melissa during her illness, I was completely amazed by her positive attitude and never ending excitement for life! Melissa taught me how to embrace life and love every moment you have. I will always remember her beautiful smile, genuine kindess, and remarkable determination and positivity during such difficult struggles.
I am glad you are at peace, Melissa. I am so blessed to have been your friend.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Melissa. I worked with her at Sapient. Ever so ready to lend a helping hand and a smile, she was a pleasure to have around. She was always cheerful and determined to live life to the fullest despite her illness. Melissa is an inspiration to all of us.

Although doctors are not supposed to have favorite patients, Melissa was one of mine. It is probably most telling that when I was asked to recommend a patient who could best articulate to a group of young physicians what it is like to have cancer, I immediately picked up the phone to call Melissa.
She was always courageous, determined, and graceful. Even through some of the most intense therapies in medicine, she sparkled. It is for people like Melissa that I intent to spend my life researching better, more humane treatments. It has been my experience as an oncologist that people like Melissa never trully go away because they leave too much behind!

Condolences to family and friends for the loss of a phenomenal woman.
I had the incredible good fortune to have known Melissa. I will never forget her. Melissa had an amazing smile and the most infectious laugh. I will remember how strong and beautiful and determined she was to do and be the best that she could be. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with Melissa, and all of you. My heart goes out to you.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of Melissa's passing - I have exceptionally fond memories of Melissa from my days at Sapient. We had a great friendship and although I lost contact when I moved back to Ireland - I had a very special relationship with Melissa - and I am shocked at her passing. Thinking of you Melissa - so sorry that you have left us.

Our sincere condolences. I am glad that my daughter Karen had developed such a wonderful relationship with Melissa from Sapient. I am also glad that I had an opportunity to meet Melissa last September, 2001 and email her at times. Her courage and strength during her illness has been an invaluable example for all of us who have been fortunate to know her.
