Michael ESCHELBACHER Obituary

ESCHELBACHER, Michael J. Of Swampscott, MA, died peacefully, on December 31, 2024.

Michael was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, raised in New York City and a resident of Swampscott for over 50 years. He was the beloved husband of Roslyn Cooperstein Eschelbacher, for 58 years; and devoted father to Jeremy, Liza and Andrew.

Michael was a graduate of Brandeis University and Boston College School of Law. He practiced in Boston and Salem until his death. Michael was passionate about his volunteer work, including his dedicated involvement as a community leader with youth soccer, the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute (affiliated with Salem State University), Jeff's Place Children's Bereavement Center in Framingham and the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore in Marblehead.

In addition to his wife and children, Michael will be missed by his daughters-in-law, Betsy (Jeremy) and Suzy (Andrew); his son-in-law Aaron (Liza); grandchildren, Merri, Wilton, Ollie, Eliot, Judah, Micah and Luca; his brother, David Trachtenberg (Michael's 2018 kidney transplant donor); and his family; the family of his late sister, Shoshanah Frackman; as well as Edgar Ortiz and his family. Michael also leaves behind his and Roslyn's loving extended family and wonderful friends.

Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, at the Clubhouse at Summit Estates in Swampscott.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Jeff's Place, www.jeffsplace.org and the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute, www.explorerslli.org
