NICHOLAS GEORGE TAGARIS

1935 - 2015

TAGARIS, Nicholas George Passed away on September 24, 2015 at his home in Walpole, MA. He was born on October 1, 1935 in Greece and came to America after graduating high school to attend MIT's engineering program. Nick was a brilliant man and he went on to start up Datel, Inc in which he was at the helm as President/ CEO for well over 40 years. In that time, the company grew to have subsidiaries in Tokyo, London, Paris, and Munich, as well as the headquarters based in Mansfield, MA. Nick had a stroke in 2003 and Datel was sold for $75 million, but through the years thousands of jobs and careers were created and Nick was loved and admired by so many of those grateful employees and their families! He was truly an Icon! Nick loved his dear friends, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, motorcycling, his exotic sports cars, and anything that went Fast! He lived life to the fullest and knew how to have a good time. He was so generous to those he loved and cared about and one was truly blessed to be able to call him their friend! Nick was survived by four children, three grandchildren, a sister, two nephews and was married to Jody Tagaris who will love him through eternity! Happy Birthday Nick, you are Free at last! A service was held on September 28, 2015 at St Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Braintree, MA at 11am and a burial followed at Milton Town Cemetery.
