Mamma, I can't believe that it's been nine months that you've been gone but always and forever you're in my heart. Christmas is almost here and it's not going to be the same without you... me, Massimo, Melissa and Mario always had the honor and the happiness of having you at our house with us every Christmas Eve and it's going to be so hard this holiday getting through it without you. I love and miss you so much you're in my thoughts always.

Dear Nonna,

You know how much we all love you and now you know how much we all miss you.

You lived a beautiful long life. You raised seven children and got to witness the births of your thirteen grandchildren.

I know you were happy with your life from the stories you shared. We have plenty to last us our lifetime and pass on to our children.

Though we are sad to see you go, we can not be selfish. We know you were ready for God to take you. Now that He has we miss you but can share the memories you left behind.

We thank God you passed in your sleep.
Now may you rest forever in peace.

Ti Voglio Bene Nonna!

Always,
Grandchild # 6

Paola,
The family that you raised are a tribute to the person that you were and the life that you lived. Loving, caring, laughing, and sharing. Coming into your home was as comfortable as going into my own. You always had a smile and espresso, not to mention whatever you were cooking that day on the stove or in the oven. Those memories always bring a smile to my face. Thanks for opening your heart and your home to me and for raising 7 wonderful children whom I love and call each one a friend.

"Farewell, Dear Mother"
Somewhere in my heart, beneath all of this pain, is a smile I still wear....at the sound of you name.
The precious word is "MOTHER" she was my world you see, but now my heart is breaking, she's no longer here with me. God chose her for His angel to watch me from above, to guide me and advise me and know that I'm still loved.
The day she had to leave me, her life on earth was through, but God had better plans for her for this I surely knew. When I think of her kind heart and all those loving years, because we're only human, they're bound to bring us tears.
She truly was my best friend, someone I could confide in, she always had a tender touch a soft and gentle grin. I want to thank you Mother for teaching me so well, even though the time has come that I must bid you farewell.
I'll remember all you've taught me, to put God above all others...For I had no better teacher, than you...My Dear Mother.
Even though you've left this earth and had to take your flight, I know that you are here with me, each morning, noon and night.

My Mother was loving, caring and strong. She came to the U.S. with our father and 7 kids to make a future for us, she dedicated her life to raising us and somehow managed to work at the Don Orione for 37 years. She taught us how to be loving, caring and strong. Without her guidancein our early years we would have been lost in this foreign country, she managed to overcome her language barrier and provide us with love and protection of a good mother. She spent her life taking care of others, who all have a special story about her. Perhaps it was a special meal she made them or a story she shared with them, with all the people in her life, she managed to make every one of us feel special in our own way. She was an independant woman..she lived alone, drove herself where she needed to go and took care of her own daily activities. Then, in the past year her independance was taken away from her, she struggled with being dependant on her family, but, it gave us a chance to see her vulnerable side even though it was difficult for us. In a way it was a blessing in disguise, in that past year we learned even more about her and made the time we shared even more special. So, now we have sent her to be with our father in a place where she can rest in peace and know that she left a family that will forever hold her dear in our hearts and our thoughts.
Ciao Mamma stai in pace con gl'angeli

Mamma, your children and grandchildren miss you so much. The amount of people that came to pay their respects was a testament to the loving person that you were. You touched so many lives and your goodness will live on. Rest in peace Mamma. Your baby girl.
