Dearest John and Robin,
We have not met but I knew your son Patrick. I just found out about his passing. I am deeply saddened. I live in California and only visit Duxbury once every summer. I live a very busy life but I always send Patrick a message when I'm there, hoping to catch him. I have to say he was a stand up guy and very genuine. The short time that I knew him, felt like I knew him all my life. He made me feel welcome in a strange place. I miss him dearly. My condolences to you and your family. Sending prayers.

Pat was one of a kind. Always there for the people he cared about and many he didn't even know. I will never forget what he did for me in my time of need! Such a wonderful person is hard to find.
People may grow apart physically but people like Pat will forever stay in our hearts!

Magoo, these past two years or so have been filled with ups, downs and you were always a solid friend to me. I don't know how I am going to finally realize I'm not going to ever see you again. Patrick Davitt , I'm shocked ! Still hasn't hit me ,my best friend is gone , my TRUE FRIEND , you can't find anyone like you around . Such a CARING , LOVING human being . Patrick would help anyone in anyway possible sometimes overly giving he loved to help others made him feel better . We are deeply saddened by the news of Patrick's passing. We remember meeting Patrick years ago as he shucked oysters with a big smile at our annual Fall cocktail parties. He was always a very polite young man that went out of his way to say hello and ask how things are going. We enjoyed talking with him last week at the Duxbury Oyster Fest as he served up some great oysters. He will be forever missed by all who knew him. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
