PAUL ROBINSON Obituary

ROBINSON, Paul Edward Died peacefully at 81 on March 18th, at home in Dorchester with his loving wife, Lee, by his side.

He was the son of Dr. Charles and Pauline Robinson of Milton. Upon graduating from Milton Academy he attended Columbia University where he managed the hockey team, and later graduated from Boston University.

Paul had a five decade career in healthcare beginning as Deputy Commissioner for Addiction Services during Mayor White's administration; and followed by many years establishing nationwide HMO and PPO medical networks.

In later years he became the unofficial ?major' of Wellesley Park, the picturesque Victorian enclave of Dorchester, where he held court from a rocking chair on his front porch. He was involved in many neighborhood activities, and was rumored to be a cat whisperer. He was also an accomplished artist and enjoyed a life-long passion for golf, playing as often as possible at the Milton Hoosic Club, as well as taking part in their famous ?Follies' productions.

Paul spent the rest of his life volunteering a his beloved Milton Academy, where he was a superb fundraiser and class secretary. His positive attitude made reaching financial goals fun to be a member of the Class of '55. In spite of numerous health issues Paul never lost his quirky sense of humor and maintained enduring relationships with his classmates.

Paul is survived by his wife, Lee, a daughter Samantha Carroll, her husband Bob, and two beloved grandsons: Jack and Justin of Riverside, Connecticut; a step-daughter, Allegra Pawlowski of New Bedford; a brother, Tony of Kansas City, Missouri; and his sister, Carol (Spangenberg) Robinson of Brookline. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Morton Robinson III.

A celebration of his life is being planned for later in the spring.

I worked of Paul Robinson in the Mayor's Office on Drug abuse in the mid 70's. he was a dedicated public servant and a mentor for many. I moved on but never forgot him and always have treasured my time working for him. He taught me a lot about government but mainly a lot about life and how to live it purposefully.
