Paul Scanlon Obituary

On Wednesday, December 5, 2007, of Reston, VA. Son of George and Mary Ellen of Brookline, MA; brother of George F. of South Weymouth, MA; and Dorothy T. of Dennis, MA. Devoted father of Timothy F. of Hilo, HI; Thomas A. of Streetsboro, OH; Sean P. and wife Sharon of Three Springs, PA; and Kara A. and husband John of Urbana, IL. Adored grandfather of Jacob, Brian, and Mary Ellen Scanlon and Santiago and Thomas McKinn. Also survived by his former wife, Patricia Schoeneck Scanlon. Paul was born August 22, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT; he graduated from Boston College High School in 1953 and Villanova University in 1957. He received a JD from Boston College Law School in 1960. A member of the ABA and the ATLA, he was co-founder of the Anti-Trust Law and Economics Review. After working for the Federal Trade Commission, he had a private practice in Northern Virginia for over 40 years, specializing in bankruptcy, class action, and real estate. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in West Roxbury, MA at 10 am Friday, Dec. 14. Interment Holyhood Cemetery, West Roxbury. A celebration of Paul's life will be held in Northern, Virginia later this winter.
