I never met Richard, but was his insurance broker for 6 years. We never had a conversation (and there were many) where we did not share a laugh, an anecdote from Richard and commentary about life. He was a man of great scope, bigger than life, who commanded respect from me during these years just from the power and conviction of his words and in his deep, rich voice.
Though I never met him I knew he was a good man and that if I will miss him others will be severely affected by his departure. They say God calls when he needs you. And I can see Rich up there holding court and being the smartest guy in the room.

Richard, I miss your presence so much my friend of 40 years, and grieve with your family and friends. You were as close to the perfect friend as there can be. I guess we should not dwell on our loss but be grateful for the time we had with you.
