Mr Terry befriended each of the five boys in the Iannini Family. He was single at the time and did not enjoy doing everything alone. He invited each of us to accompany him many times when he went out to eat and to attend sporting events most notably Boston Bruins games. Though we will never be sure why he chose us, I think besides the fact we were smart and personable, he knew he could trust us to keep his confidence. When he started dating Rita she went with me and Dick to a Bruins game. I think that I was one of the first to know they were dating. There were a couple of things about that night. First was that he asked me if it was OK for Rita to come. The second was that he never asked me to keep their romantic interest confidential. We never discussed it! Of course I NEVER told anyone about it. I felt really gratified that he trusted in me so much that he never felt ANY need to ask me not to divulge it. It touched me then and I feel the warmth of my feelings for him. He was so good to me. He was my friend and an much admired role model.
Sincerely,
George

To: Rick, Robby, and Rita Lynne and your extended families,
I only yesterday heard about your Dad's passing back in February. On behalf of all of the Sandini Family, I would like to express our deepest sympathies.
Dan, Chris and I, especially, have wonderful memories of going to your house on Berlin Rd. every Christmas Eve with our Mom to visit with her dear friend and "Boss," and his family :) We also have fond memories of Advanced Chemistry with Mr. Terry...he was a great teacher. Above all, Mr. Terry was always a dear friend to our Mom, Therese, providing her with much encouragement, support and guidance throughout her teaching career. We can only pray and hope that your Dad and our Mom are up there in heaven enjoying reminiscing about their days at MHS...balancing equations, preparing for labs, and updating their plan books =)

Dear Ritalynne, Rick, and Rob,

Please accept my deepest sympathy upon the loss of your Dad. He loved you all so much and was so very proud of each one of you. I was privileged to have worked with him as a colleague at MHS. He was so devoted to his Science Department and his students. I am sorry I could not attend his services since I read of his passing while I was in Florida. May you be comforted by wonderful memories of good times shared and the knowledge that he is now with your Mom.

Sincerely,
Rose Marie Boniface

Dear Rick and Family,
You dad was a great teacher, mentor and friend to all of us in the Iannini family(five boys). My brothers and I are very saddened to hear of your dad's passing. Each of us shared in many acts of kindness as we passed through Marlboro High School. Your dad and I used to go out to eat Chinese food every month or two while I was at Marlboro High. We were both avid Boston Bruins fans during the Bobby Orr era. Your dad used to mail order tickets and we would go to 3-4 games a year. During a game late in the season your dad brought along a "date", your mother Rita. He had told me beforehand that he did not want to leave me home for such an important game and Rita would not mind. I was very touched that he considered me such a friend who would not think of leaving me home. I think I was one of the few people at the high school that knew that your mother and he were dating. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your parents were the best. Rest assured they are together in peace. We are all better off for having the chance to spend some time with them.

Sincerely,
George Iannini

P.S. Your mom was my teacher for Algebra 2 as well as Trig & Calculus - she was also a great teacher and friend.

So sad to hear about Mr. Terry's passing. I did not have him as a teacher but I did have Miss Maiorano for Math for three years. She was the "best." I was not aware of her passing so long ago.
My sincere condolences to both families and their former students.

Dear Rick,
I'm so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. While I never met him, the testimonies of his friends and former students, not to mention the remarkable man you are, paint a picture of the wonderful person he must have been. Take comfort in the fact that no one could ask for a more devoted son than you. I'm sure your Dad appreciated your love and devotion. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Love,

I am sorry to learn of Mr. Terry's passing. Though an excellent teacher, Mr. Terry was more than that. He took a sincere, personal interest in his students. He was teacher, coach, advisor, mentor.

Rich, Rob and Ritalynne,

I'm sorry for the loss you and your family have had with your fathers passing. Many remember "Mr. Terry" as a tough teacher who just wanted his students to do their best. However, I remember him as a Berlin Rd. neighbor. I'd remember seeing him walking along the road and stopping to talk to everyone and say hi, I remember him pulling me aside in school, just to let me know he had his eye on me or my mom would hear about it.

The world has lost one more good person and I hope that's what you take with you in your grief.
