STEPHEN MOYNIHAN Obituary

MOYNIHAN, Stephen H. Of Quincy, died peacefully, August 30, 2017, with his family by his side.

Beloved husband of 66 years to Jean Moynihan (Granahan) of Quincy. Loving father of Mary Elizabeth Levy and her husband Robert of Wellesley, Kathleen Phillips and her husband Gregory of Falmouth, Stephen Moynihan and his wife Grace of Falmouth, Ellen Moynihan of Falmouth, Jean Marie Crossman and her husband Michael of Falmouth, and Joseph Moynihan and his wife Nancy of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Stephen and Daniel Crossman and Daniel and Rebecca Levy. Very happily Dana, Terry and Alex Teague of Brookline were added to his family. Devoted step brother of the late William Murphy.

Steve lived most of his life in Quincy, graduating from North Quincy High School in 1948 where he was inducted in the Football Hall of Fame. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Bentley College and later became a CPA in tax business. Steve worked as a Director of Business Affairs for the Quincy Public Schools and went above and beyond in his community involvement. He was the founder of Quincy Retiree Association and the treasurer of the Quincy Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund. Steve was also a long time member and past president of Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO), the North Quincy Knights of Columbus, a past president of Quincy Teen Mother's Program and many other organizations. Steve's main passion in life was his family. He will be remembered for his easy going personality and his kindness and compassion. Steve will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Steve always saw the best in everyone.

The Moynihan Family,

Sorry to hear about Mr. Moynihan, he was a good friend of my dad's from NQHS and they played ball together growing up. I always enjoyed seeing Steve at tax time as he would always have a story or 2 from their younger days.
